EKEN H9 Ultra HD 4K Action Camera review
Heken H9 is absolutely one of the cheaper action cams in the market. It can register 4K @ 10fps, 2.7k @ 15fps and 1080p @ 60fps. Obviuosly 4k and 2.7k cannot be used as they’re only 10fps and it’s just marketing, but 1080p @ 60fps is still the best resolution to shot action videos.
The quality of Heken H9 videos is similar to SJ4000+, but this camera is cheaper and the 60fps are real, not like SJ4000 that simply doubles 30fps x2.
Heken H9 has Sunplus 6350 chipset and OmniVision OV4689 sensor, the same mounted on SJ4000+. It has a back screen, so you can see what you are recording live, change settings, and playback your videos and pictures, all very useful features.
Frame Rates:

- 1080p – 60/30 fps
- 720p – 120/60fps
So despite the camera is branded 4K it only can do 10fps. But still it can do 1080p with 60fps like most of the current action cameras. Firefly 6S, SJ5000X Elite and Git2 record 4K with 24fps if you are looking for a cam with a decent 4K framerate.

How to connect:
Press the “down” button on the side of the camera to turn on wifi. On the screen you’ll see that wifi is now on.
Look for the camera on your phone’s wifi – the standard wifi name is ICAM-Hg, the standard password is 1234567890
Open up the EZ iCam App and select your camera – then the live view is show.
There is also the Heken H9R version, with a remote control waterproof up to 3m, with just 10-15$ more you get a simple but usefool tool to control the cam remotely without the need of a smartphone, and that can be used in presence of water during water sports.

Heken H9 video review and video tests
The video quality at 1080p @ 60fps is quite good as you can see from the demo footage below. Colors are natural and videos pretty sharp and with high contrast. It has some issues when you point the camera towards the sun but every action camera have the same problem. It is a very cheap action cameras that offers a lot, a 2″ screen, many accessories, sharp videos – pictures are not so good though – and high 25-45Mb/s data rate.
